Helpful article

Hellooooooooooo!

I just read an article about why you might not be reaching your fitness goals. The things that stood out to me were that you should not exercise on an empty stomach and it had some suggestions for an after workout snack.

Some after workout snacks they suggested were 1/2 c cottage cheese and 1/2 c of fruit; one apple and one tablespoon of peanut butter; 15 baby carrots and 2 tablespoons of hummus; one cheese stick and 15 grapes;    6 oz of yogurt; and a cup of milk. Your after work out snack basically needs to be less than 150 calories and at least 10 g of protein. I was surprised to learn that it is most helpful to eat your after workout snack within 20 minutes of finishing your workout.

I hope this info was helpful to you! Here is the link if you want to read the rest of the article-

  1. Scarlett, this is great information. I am always so hungry and thirsty after 45 minutes on the treadmill. Now I know what to eat and the amount. I think one thing I really need to do is make a list of "good" foods and go shopping!! Finally got all the Easter candy out of the house.
